Kate BellingerI found our photographer online by doing a search for photographers in our local area.  She was brilliant.  I chose a local photographer so that she could come and do a site visit beforehand to familiarise herself with the church and marquee.  Also, since she was local we didn’t have to pay for her travel (petrol) so this would be a good thing for you to do if you wanted to cut down on the budget a bit!

I am very happy to recommend Kate Bellinger Photography.  Kate is a brilliant photographer based just south of London and covers weddings in London, Surrey, Kent, Dorset and other areas for extremely reasonable prices.  Check out her website - www.katebellinger-photography.co.uk

We didn’t have a videographer due to cost.  We asked some good friends to video the service and the speeches which are the most important bits (well, important bits to catch on camera because they go in a flash and it is great to look back on and hear it all again!).  The cost of this was free (well, we paid our friends for the videotapes) and also added a personal touch since good friends were involved.  We bought the videotapes from Amazon as they were the most reasonably priced.

One idea is to leave disposable cameras on the tables so that your guests can take candid shots during the reception.Confetti Camera These can be bought from places like Tesco, Amazon or Confetti.  We have found that the cheapest place to get photographs developed online is at Photobox or Snapfish and sometimes they offer you free prints just for signing up so it is worth doing that!

Top Tips For Wedding Photography:

1.  Negotiate with your photographer to just get the shots on a cd, with the rights to print them out yourself. We did this and you can upload all the shots onto Snapfish so that people could view the link then easily and cheaply order photos themselves.

2.  Get a photobook made on Photobox as this is much less precious than the usual leather bound album.  You can even get a few made and give them to your parents/other family as a lovely reminder of the day!

3.  Ask friends to take pictures and videos and then after the wedding ask them to send you a cd with their snaps/video on.
