The first thing that guests see before the wedding day is the invitation. So it is important to get this right as it will set the tone for your Big Day!
We chose to got to a local printer to have our traditional wedding invitations printed. However, the more personal (and cheaper) alternative is to make your own. You can pick up paper and other items from places such as Confetti , Staples and Hobbycraft. We made a mini insert to the invitation which set out local accommodation and directions. Again we made this on our home computer and so it was virtually free! If you are planning a traditional design and can source a local printer it is easy to set the design on your PC and email it to them which will cost much less than asking a printer to do the whole thing for you.
Top Tips For Wedding Invitations:
1. It’s worth having a look at Confetti, to see whether they have any packs of invites which appeal. You may be able to get these cheaper than printing with a print company.
2. With a little bit of work, you can design your own invitations at home on your computer. Buy some nice quality paper or card and print the invitations at home. The ink you use should still be cheaper than going elsewhere.
3. If you do want any special treatment to your invitation, such as embossed printing or raised printing, it is still worth finding a printer that will print your designs. You can then design exactly what you want on your computer, and send this to the printer, rather than them designing your invite as well as printing it.
