Wedding Car
We hired the most gorgeous Austin though Premier Carriage – you can search by area. The car took the bride, mother of the bride and bridemaids to the church and then afterwards drove us back to the venue. We got married at 3.30 and the car arrived at 3 to take the bridesmaids to church, it then came back from my mother and brother and then finally Dad and I were picked up.
- If the church and venue are nearby then if you get your timings right, you only need one wedding car as we did.
- See if you have any friends or family that have nice cars with a view to asking them if you can borrow their car for the wedding. You just need to add some ribbon, get an usher or someone insured to drive the car and then presto you have a wedding car!
- There are lots of taxi firms that have ‘smarter’ cars and often hiring a cab for an hour will work out cheaper than a traditional wedding car.
Transport for guests
- Bus – If you have many family members coming from the same place to the wedding then hiring a bus is the cheapest and safest way to get everyone there and home. Plus also cuts down on how many parking spaces you will need. If there is a big distance between where you are getting married and the venue then a bus is the best way of getting your guests to the venue.
- Taxi – we gave a list of local taxi companies to the guests (in the wedding invitation). You should phone round and let the taxi companies know that you are getting married and that you are putting their names in your wedding invitation and ask if, in return, they will give you a discount if people call up and say they are going to the wedding.
