Ushers and Best Man

We chose to have 4 ushers and a best man.  I personally didn’t want the ushers wearing matching morning suits as I felt the buttonholes we had made for them would set them apart from the other wedding guests.  The ushers that did not already have morning suits rented them from Moss Bros.  They do some really reasonably priced items and according to the boys they were pleasant to deal with and provided a great service.

Another idea is instead of getting all the ushers to wear the same suits, simply get them to all wear the same colour tie with a black or grey suit.  You could give the tie to them as a present to thank them for their help – two birds with one stone!

If you’re Scottish and the groom is going to wear a kilt then it is worth looking locally.  A friend of mine bought his kilt and all the trimmings from a lady who worked from home in Fife.  It saved him a fortune compared to mainstream kilt makers who had all the overheads to calculate in with the cost.

In terms of presents, we bought the ushers each a nice bottle of red wine to say thank you for all that they did.  You can get some lovely wine from Majestic Wine or Wine Rack.

Other Present Ideas include a Hip Flask, a Tie, a bottle of wine, some cufflinks, some cigars.
